Crusso

Crusso (pronounced Krue-so) is the sweetest little Sun Conure! She loves to be cuddled and petted and to just hang out with you. She does not bite, but like most parrots will give you a little beaking if she doesn’t like something you’re doing. She eats good and loves to play with her toys! She has a typical Sun Conure voice and can be quite noisy! She seems to have learned that squawking would get her attention in her last home and her foster family is working on correcting this behavior. She is very smart and catching on quickly! :) She will make a wonderful addition to some lucky person’s home!

Crimson

Crimson came from the same home as Dewey/Siren and a number of other birds. She was given up due to family medical issues. She was very skittish when she first came to the rescue but has since come to be quite friendly and now enjoys interacting with people. She came from a home with other pets (cats, dogs, birds) so she is used to other animals. Not much information was given about her habits etc. Red Bellied Parrots in general are a nice size and not super loud. She would make a great companion for someone looking for a smaller bird that still has plenty of personality!

Theta

Theta is a beautiful Sun Conure who can be cage protective. Once we have her out of her cage she is handleable. She is a good eater and likes to play with her toys.

Hi, my name is Screech. I am a typical Conure and lived with my old person for all 10 years of my life before coming to the rescue about a year ago. They had to give me up due to traveling and moving. I can talk and sing and like to share your dinner right off your plate. In my old home I got to spend lots of time out of my cage and would walk across the floor to get where I wanted to go! I can bite so I need someone who understands a Conure’s personality to give me a loving home!

Roscoe

Roscoe was originally adopted from our foundation almost 2 years ago. His cargiver moved and Roscoe did not like the new apartment and began to sream constantly. The neighbors began to complain and Roscoe had to leave. We have not experienced the screaming issue here since his return. He is well hand trained and eats very well. Roscoe is a habitual plucker and has plucked his feathers so much that they will not grow back.

Update: Roscoe is as charming as he is naked!! He has plucked his chest and back repeatedly, and feathers will most likely not regrow in these areas. His remaining feathers are beautiful, however, and his tail is long, full, and gorgeous!! He is very friendly, loves a good head scratch, and has a sweet, low voice that sounds like a whisper. He plays vigorously with his toys, and screams for joy while doing it!!

Pete

Pete was given up by his last owner who had him for two and a half years because he did not feel he could give Pete the attention he needed. At his old home Pete liked to come out of his cage and run around on the floor playing! He was allowed to go back to his cage on his own, which he did after awhile of playing. He was around dogs and kids and wasn’t bothered by either. He did however get very excited when small children were around and would jump up and down and scream loudly, he likes kids! He loves shredding paper and likes all kinds of food including “cookies, apples, peanuts & hot dogs”. He talks and says “Hello”, “What”, “Polly want cracker”, “Shut door” and he whistles too! He likes to sit on shoulders (may not be wise, but this is what the previous owner told us) and enjoys watching TV. He takes spray bottle baths. Like a typical Moluccan he is LOUD! He is quite the show off but has been known to bite if he’s scared. He’s a cool bird just waiting for that special forever home!

Willow

Hi, my name is Willow. I am currently in foster care. I was only in my previous home for 8 months but, they couldn’t keep me. I will bite if you let me so a home with an experienced Macaw owner would be best for me. I speak Spanish and say “water, Feed Me, scratch, Toy, Hello… etc. Maybe you speak a little Spanish (or want to learn?!) and could talk to me and share your life with me?

Whitney

Hi, my name is Whitney. I am really a one person bird and I will decide if you are that one person. I will also get very attached to you. I would be happiest in a home where there are no children and where I am the only bird but, I’ll be fine if there are other pets. If you are my person I would love to hang out with you all day and will help you while you do laundry or dishes or whatever! I will make it very clear if I don’t like someone by biting. I can be very entertaining running all around and playing inside my cage. I can talk too and say a variety of things like “Hello” and “What are you doing?”. Maybe you are that one, special person I need to give me a home and make my life happy and complete?!

Stanley

Hi, my name is Stanley, I am a 24+ year old, wild caught, Blue Front Amazon. I am looking for a home with a special person who can spend lots of time with me. I can be very friendly if you have the time to spend with me but, since I am a wild caught bird I will revert to my wild ways if I don’t get enough interaction with people. I would prefer to be in a home with only adults but, I am fine with other birds and other pets. I have a great vocabulary and can say about 100 different words! Do you have a place in your home and heart for a special bird that needs a little extra love and understanding?

Primo

Hi, my name is Primo. I came to the rescue about a year ago when my family moved and couldn’t take me with them. I lived with different members of the same family for all 21 years of my life. I will decide if I like you or not and if I do like you I will let you pet and scratch me but, if I decide I don’t like you forget it! I like to swing on my toys and play in my water dish. I love to eat eggs! Do you have some you’d like to share with me?

D.K.

Hi, my name is D.K. My previous keepers gave me up because I made too much noise even though they had had me for 30 years. I am an Amazon so of course I am noisy! I am looking for a home with someone who will understand me and love me for who I am. I am not super friendly or affectionate but with the right person handeling me I will make a great companion!

Jake

Jake is a Blue Front Amazon that came to us due to a lifestyle change in his caregivers life. Jake is in excellent health and is a good eater. He does talk some and is very curious about everything. He will step up and likes scritches. As with all male amazons, he can be a little moody at times.

Spunky

Spunky came to us because of screaming and biting issues. We have the screaming under control and have been working on the biting. We are now getting him out of his cage and are working on is social skills. He is a very active bird and is a good eater. He love to play with almonds in the shell until he gets them open and then loves the “Treasure” he finds inside the shell.

Sinbad

Sinbad is a cool little bird. He loves to come out and hop and jump around. He will get on one persons should and then if someone else walks by he will jump over to their shoulder.

Sinbad has a plucking issue but we have that under control now. He is a good eater.

Jake

Jake is a nice Nanday Conure. He is a good eater and loves playing with his toys. He is cage aggressive but once out of his cage he is a very sweet bird. We cover our hand with a towel to get him out and then after he is out we can just use our hands with him. He loves to sit on your shoulder and just hang out with you.

Kelly

Kelly is a very cute amazon. He is a good eater. He has a biting issue that we are working on. Unfortunately we have very little background on him.

Pancho

Pancho came to use via the SPCA. He was recovered from a house where the owner committed suicide. Pancho is very untrusting of people and is very protective of his cage. We are working on this fear issue of his and he is starting to respond. He is a good eater and is starting to play with his toys.

Screech

Screech is a very cool bird. He likes to interact with people and is a good eater. He does not live up to his name as he is not a screamer as compared to other conures. He does call out but not anything out of the ordinary.

Jake

Jake is a very sweet but scared bird. His colors are a little dull right now because he has not been on the best of diets. Tthe previous owner told us that when his mother got Jake ten years ago, He was grey. They started taking care of him and Jake bonded to them and then he started getting his green colors. He currently has no toys in his cage at all. We have two hanging off the side of the cage now so hopefully he will get use to them. We will be working for a while with Jake to get him healthy.

Moko

Moko came to us from a family that could no longer care for him. He is a good eater and plays with his toys. He is an extremely aggressive biter. Moko will be in rehab until we can improve his social skills and stops the biting.

Peter

Peter came to us because his family was moving and he could not go. He is a very shy bird and loves to watch things going on. He is a good eater and is somewhat cage bound. We have been working with him and believe it is time for him to establish a one-on-one relationship with some one.

Rio

Rio came to us along with Nicky from a very loving family who could no longer care for them. Rio is a very sweet but vocal bird who likes to sing. She seems to prefer men and will even let some scratch her head. She is more aggressive with women. Rio is a wild caught bird and does not trust people and will not step up and runs from hands. Sonny

Sonny came to us from a very loving family but because his family was forced to move causing a major lifestyle change The Bailey Foundtion was asked to help. He is a very friendly bird and loves to cuddle. He gets along with other birds once he gets used to them. He enjoys his time out of his cage.

UPDATE: Sonny is back in rehab. He has become very aggressive all of a sudden and is biting. We believe that it may be due to him going into mating mode and has become very hormonal. We are working with him to get him thru this issue and as soon as he has settled down again we will make him available.

Assorted Cockatiels

The Bailey Foundation has recieved 15 assorted cockatiels over the past week and all are ready for adoption.

Ryan

Ryan came to the Foundation because his owners did not feel they could give him the attention and interaction he deserves. Ryan’s exact history is not known, but it is thought he may have been a breeder who didn’t produce so he was sold as a pet. Ryan likes to be petted but gets nervous when he is out of his cage. We will be working with Ryan on his out of cage socialization skills. Update: Ryan was doing really well with one of our volunteers but due to a family emergency the volunteer had to move away and now Ryan has gone back to square one. He has become extremely aggressive and is biting anyone who goes near him. It will take some time for us to work with him and get him ready for adoption.
